PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – The crude palm oil (CPO) price at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) was recorded as withdrawn (WD) on Thursday (31/7/2025), with the highest offer reaching Rp14,525/kg. This marks a decrease of Rp100/kg or 0.68% compared to the previous day’s price of Rp14,625/kg (Wednesday, 30/7/2025).
According to information obtained by Palmoilmagazine.com from KPBN, the CPO price for Franco Belawan opened at Rp14,635/kg, but was withdrawn with the highest offer only reaching Rp14,525/kg. Similarly, the Franco Dumai price also opened at Rp14,635/kg but was withdrawn at a top bid of Rp14,520/kg.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that CPO futures on the Malaysian Exchange weakened during Thursday’s trading session, ending a two-day rally. The pressure came from the decline in prices of competing vegetable oils and growing concerns about rising production and slowing export demand.

Based on data from the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange, the benchmark CPO futures contract for October delivery dropped RM28 or 0.65% to RM4,250 per metric ton (approximately US$1,000) at mid-session close.
Globally, vegetable oil markets also showed bearish trends. The most active soyoil contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange slipped 0.61%, while palm oil futures on the same exchange fell 0.51%. On the Chicago Board of Trade, soyoil prices declined 0.82%, reflecting a broad-based weakness in the vegetable oil sector.
CPO prices typically track other vegetable oils due to their competition in the global edible oil market.
Adding to the downward pressure, global crude oil prices also fell. As of 05:45 GMT, Brent crude dropped 0.33% to US$73 per barrel. Lower crude oil prices reduce the economic attractiveness of CPO as a raw material for biodiesel.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian ringgit— the main currency in palm oil trading— weakened by 0.35% against the US dollar, which technically makes Malaysian palm oil more competitive for foreign buyers.
