PALMOILMAGAZINE, LUWU TIMUR – To enhance palm oil governance as a key driver of economic development in Luwu Timur Regency, Regent H. Budiman, Vice Regent Mochammad Akbar Andi Leluasa, and Head of the Food Security and Agriculture Agency, Amrullah, inaugurated a coordination meeting in Kasintuwu Village, Mangkutana District, on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024.
During his address, Regent H. Budiman highlighted the 2022 plantation statistics, which revealed an increase in the area of palm oil plantations from 9,271.38 hectares with 4,570 families of planters to 9,806.35 hectares with 4,740 families by December 2023.
“The government participate to develop palm oil plantations in national scale in the form of fund allocation from Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency,” he said, as Palmoilmagazine.com quoted from the official page of Regency of Luwu Timur (11/2/2024).

He also told that it needs to develop upstream sector, encourage palm oil industrial investment. But he acknowledged there have been challenges in fresh fruit bunch distribution in the regency.
To improve the governance, Budiman emphasized to get improvement and reinforcement. The signing of infrastructure help inscription to develop palm oil plantation ways for the group Caryata Jaya in Village of Kasintuwu and group Laimbo Permai in Village of Margolimbo would be the concrete thing to realize the idea.
“As one palm oil center in South Sulawesi Province, it is time for us to manage, improve our palm oil plantation to get better and reinforced,” Budiman said. (T2)
