PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Minister of Investment and Downstream, Rosan Roeslani, has received a special mandate from President Prabowo Subianto to expand Indonesia’s downstream sectors. The President emphasized the importance of developing these sectors across various industries, including mining, palm oil, and fisheries.
“The downstream expansion should extend beyond mining, not only to add value but also to create more job opportunities,” Rosan stated, as reported by Palmoilmagazine.com from Katadata on Monday, October 21.
Rosan mentioned that the government is developing a roadmap to enhance downstream sectors for key commodities like palm oil and seaweed. Palm oil holds substantial potential for producing derivative products such as olein, while seaweed can be transformed into gelatin and cosmetic ingredients. The downstream expansion is expected to increase commodity value and contribute significantly to the national economy.

As it was informed, President Prabowo would be committed to continue the downstream projects as one prior policy in the era of President Joko Widodo. In his first speech as the President of Indonesia, Prabowo said that the downstream would be the key to realize the welfare and economic prosperity.
