PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Executive Director of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Mukti Sardjono said totally domestic consumption by June 2023 reached 1,96 million tons or higher 8,0% than it in May that reached 1,81 million tons.
It happened for the increasing biodiesel use that reached 28,3% or 197 thousand tons from 696 thousand tons in May 2023 to be 893 thousand tons in 2023.
The contrary happened in food oil and oleochemical that decreased 4,7% and 4,0% for each. “June 2023 food oil consumption reached 880 thousand tons and oleochemical reached 190 thousand tons while in May food oil consumption reached 923 thousand tons and oleochemical reached 198 thousand tons,” Mukti said as in the official statement to Palmoilmagazine.com, Thursday (24/8/2023).

Crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel oil (PKO) production in June 2023 reached 4,42 million tons. The numbers got lower 13,0% than May 2023 production that reached 5,08 million tons.
The high production in May happened for unharvested fresh fruit bunch (FFB) in April because of Lebaran holidays. In year on year (YoY) by June, the production increased 16,1% or 3.795 thousand tons from it in 2022 that reached 23.500 thousand tons to be 27.295 thousand tons in 2023. (T2)
