PALMOILMAGAZINE, KETAPANG – Chairman of DAD Sub district of Matan Hilir Utara, Jamhari told that the celebration of Gawai Dayak was one very important day for the people of Dayak that reflects the cultural wealth.
At the same time, Jamhari delivered his appreciation for Palm oil plantation company, PT Kayung Agro Lestari (KAL), the subsidiary of PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk., for actively contributing in the celebration. The presence of KAL was the attention to always conserve regional culture.
The show was ended by delivering chart DAD for KAL for contributing in every phase of Gawai Dayak and the commitments of the company to conserve regional culture in Village of Laman Satong. Besides, DAD symbolically handed over indigenous vest and hat to the representatives of KAL.

(ANJ) in District of Ketapang, West Kalimantan Province took part in indigenous ceremony – Gawai Dayak, one Dayak ritual that regularly runs in every year heading to farming season. The indigenous ritual was on Saturday (12/08) at Dayak house in Dusun Kepayang.
Gawai Dayak is a celebration of culture and many local people wait for it to do farming season. The celebration would be not only to celebrate good harvest but also inherit the ancestors’ culture.
General Manager KAL, Dadi emphasized that KAL would always be contributing to many programs and events that respect and conserve Dayak culture, and promoting sustainable practices in plantation sectors.
“We are honored for the gift and would always be committed to support cultural conservation and every activity in Gawai Dayak.
