PALMOILMAGAZINE, ROHUL – A devastating tragedy struck the Regency of Rokan Hulu (Rohul) when a palm oil seed gatherer, FR, was found brutally murdered in the palm oil plantation of Sungai Kuti Village, Subdistrict of Kunto Darussalam. The perpetrator, identified as TH (23), also a colleague of the victim, Timbul, was responsible for the stabbing.
As reported by PPalmoilmagazine.com citing Riau Pos, FR was discovered dead, bathed in blood, with multiple wounds inflicted upon his body, including a nearly severed neck. The incident was profoundly tragic. According to Rohul Police Chief, AKBP Budi Setiyono, S.IK. M.H., relayed through Kunto Darussalam Police Chief, AKP Buyung Kardinal SH MH, TH’s motive stemmed from dissatisfaction over the division of earnings from palm oil seed collection.
Information from the Criminal Unit of Kunto Darussalam Police detailed that the fatal encounter transpired on Friday (19/4/2024) around 15:00 WIB. While en route to a grocery store, the victim and his companion, SU, encountered TH wielding a knife. Without warning, TH halted them, brandishing his weapon and swiftly slashing at the victim’s neck.

Subsequently, law enforcement apprehended the assailant without resistance, aided by eyewitness accounts and thorough investigation. TH was found hiding in his brother’s residence. The community was left reeling from the shock and profound sorrow. The arrest of the perpetrator provides a semblance of justice, offering hope for the restoration of security and normalcy within the region following this tragic incident. (T2)
