PALMOILMAGAZINE, PELALAWAN – Case Number 16/Pdt.G/2024/PN, involving a legal claim by the residents of Batin Mudo Genduang, led by Abu Kasim, against PT Sari Lembah Subur (SLS) and PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, was heard at the Riau Court on Monday, July 22, 2024.
The trial was presided over by Judge Maharani Debora Manullang, SH MH, with Judge Members Alvin Ramadhan Nur Luis, SH MH, and Ellen Yolanda Sinaga, SH MH, in attendance.
According to Palmoilmagazine.com, citing bermadah.co.id on Saturday, July 27, 2024, the plaintiffs, represented by attorney Yafanus Buulolo, SH, presented documents from the DPMPTSP Regency of Pelalawan. These documents indicated that PT SLS was required to return palm oil plantations that were beyond its business rights, though the company was alleged to have ignored this requirement.

During a field inspection, the plaintiffs and their attorney demonstrated that four sites, approved by the National Land Agency, were relevant to the case. Davi SH, the attorney for PT SLS and PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, stated that they are awaiting further examination by the National Land Agency.
The trial would be continued with the agenda – to examine the witnesses from the plaintiff. Until now National Land Agency Regency of Pelalawan did not respond about the case. The trial about area ownership case in the Village of Genduang, Sub district of Pangkalan Lesung, Regency of Pelalawan, Riau Province between the local and palm oil company would be always monitored.
