FBE UNS Launches 2024 Summer Course on Feasibility Studies in Palm Oil Industry

PALMOILMAGAZINE, MEDAN – The Management Undergraduate Program at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of North Sumatra (FBE UNS) successfully launched the 2024 Summer Course themed “Advanced Feasibility Study Theory & Practice in the Palm Oil Industry.”

Held online on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Prof. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, FBE UNS, the course aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of feasibility studies within the palm oil sector.

The Summer Course focused on financial management theories applicable to feasibility studies, investment strategies, and sustainable financial practices. Participants were trained in practical financial modeling using Microsoft Excel.

Dean Fadli of FBE UNS praised the Management Undergraduate Program’s initiative, expressing hope that the event would enhance the international reputation of FBE UNS and provide valuable benefits to students, including academic, research, and professional growth for faculty members.

For information, the participants did field visit to PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV to watch palm oil production in persons. The visit was about to deliver real and latest adventure to arrage feasibility study.

Chairman of Management Undergraduate Study Program UNS, Prof. Khaira Amalia Fachrudin said the achievements from the 2024 Summer Course, were the participants would be able to get business feasibility study in palm oil industries, arranging business proposal comprehensively. As the final result, they would report palm oil mill feasibility study in groups. Besides, they would get chance to visit Bukit Lawang, a sanctuary where it is famous with orangutan population.

“The achievement from the 2024 Summer Course was that the particiapnts would be able to get business feasibility study in palm oil industries,” Prof. Khaira said.

The materials in the summer course covered the basic theories of financial management with the focus on feasibility study in palm oil industry application. The material was delivered by professors and experienced associated professors both from this country and abroad in online that enabled the participants to directly follow in UNS or through Zoom. The program was joined by 246 students. They consisted of 220 students from management program, and other participants were from Pakistan, Malaysia, Sudan, Gambia, Africa, India, Thailand, and Philippine. (P2)
