PALMOILMAGAZINE, Nanning — At the 21st China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center (NICEC) in China from September 24 to 28, 2024, Indonesia secured potential transactions worth up to Rp 479 billion. The main products showcased included palm oil, coconut, cloves, coffee, tropical fruits, handicrafts, instant noodles, and processed foods.
Indonesia also received several prestigious awards, including Best Trade and Economic Outcomes, Best National Pavilion, Best Promotion on Investment Cooperation, and the CAEXPO Silver Award for PT Surabaya Indah Permai. These accolades further solidified Indonesia’s standing in China and ASEAN.
“CAEXPO 2024 opens up opportunities for new partnerships and enables stakeholders in Indonesia to engage with their counterparts in China. With these positive outcomes, Indonesia is optimistic about strengthening its position in global trade,” said Mardyana Listyowati, Director General of National Export Development at Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com on Monday, October 7, 2024.

In addition to participating in the exhibition, the Indonesian delegation took part in several international forums during CAEXPO-CABIS 2024. These included the “Dialogue on China’s Green Value Chain” and the “China-Indonesia Trade and Investment Conference,” organized by Indonesia’s Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Agency. These forums aimed to enhance opportunities for trade cooperation.
One outstanding activity was about Clean Palm Oil dialogue that was running at Paviliun City of Charm B2. It was the collaboration between Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PO PFMA) and Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA). It was the event to campaign about the sustainable palm oil industries and potential, emphasized that it would be significant to get innovation to maintain the global – standards – sustainability.
Head of Civil Society Division, PO PFMA, Aida Fitria said that palm oil has big potential to be sold in China. “China is one main palm oil consumer from Indonesia. For the increasing demands get higher, China would significantly offer the chance to increase sustainability standards. We are optimist by consistently having promotion and innovative approach, palm oil products from Indonesia would get increased in the globe to sell namely in China,” she said.
“The participation of Indonesia in CAEXPO 2024 and the meeting in many international scale forums, would be the effective and strategic thing to promote many products and investment in Indonesia,” Miftah Farid, Director of Primary Product Export Development, Ministry of Trade Indonesian Republic, said.
For having the achievements and potential transaction, Indonesia would be more optimist to increase the export and reinforce local product competition in the globe, namely in China. (P2)
