PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was set at IDR 14,150/kg on Wednesday (Feb 5, 2025), marking a 1.01% increase or a rise of approximately IDR 142/kg compared to Tuesday’s (Feb 4, 2025) price of IDR 14,008/kg.

According to data obtained by Palmoilmagazine.com from KPBN, CPO prices were set at IDR 14,150/kg for Franco Belawan, Kuala Tanjung & Dumai and IDR 13,950/kg for Talang Duku.

Meanwhile, as reported by Reuters, Malaysian palm oil futures closed higher on Wednesday (Feb 5, 2025), driven by stronger vegetable oil contracts on the Dalian Commodity Exchange and optimism about renewed palm oil demand from India.

The benchmark palm oil contract for April 2025 delivery on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange rose by RM 24 per ton, or approximately 0.56%, reaching RM 4,332 per metric ton at closing.

According to Anilkumar Bagani, Head of Commodity Research at Mumbai-based Sunvin Group, market participants are optimistic that India will resume palm oil purchases to replenish stocks after its palm oil imports hit a low in January.

Additionally, the most active soyoil contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange rose 2.97%, while palm oil contracts increased by 3.04%. In contrast, soybean oil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade declined by 0.7%.
