West Sumatra’s fresh fruit bunch (FFB) reference price for the first week of October declined 0.51%, with the province’s CPO price at IDR 15,554.38/kg and the K Index at 94.34%.
PALMOILMAGAZINE, PADANG — Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for oil palm smallholders in West Sumatra fell during the first week of October 2026, with the reference price for palms aged 10–20 years set at IDR 3,966.94/kg.
The price, applicable from Oct. 1–7, represents a decline of IDR 20.33/kg, or 0.51%, from the previous period. The price was approved by the West Sumatra Provincial FFB Price Determination Team at a meeting held on Oct. 2, 2026, at the Plantation Division office on Jalan Rasuna Said No. 77 in Padang.

The determination was recorded in an official report issued by the West Sumatra Food Crops and Horticulture Plantation Agency.
According to the report, FFB prices were calculated based on palm age, using a K Index of 94.34%. The official reference covers palms ranging from three to 25 years old.
The FFB prices for Oct. 1–7, 2026, are:
- 3 years: IDR 3,118.41/kg
- 4 years: IDR 3,294.69/kg
- 5 years: IDR 3,489.94/kg
- 6 years: IDR 3,603.21/kg
- 7 years: IDR 3,741.88/kg
- 8 years: IDR 3,879.82/kg
- 9 years: IDR 3,956.49/kg
- 10–20 years: IDR 3,966.94/kg
- 21 years: IDR 3,816.12/kg
- 22 years: IDR 3,809.34/kg
- 23 years: IDR 3,751.10/kg
- 24 years: IDR 3,575.28/kg
- 25 years: IDR 3,533.92/kg

West Sumatra CPO Price at IDR 15,554.38/kg
The CPO price used in the FFB pricing formula for the first October period was set at IDR 15,554.38/kg.
The kernel price was set at IDR 13,124.34/kg, while the shell price used in the calculation stood at IDR 15.63/kg.
These components, combined with the 94.34% K Index, were used to calculate FFB prices according to the applicable oil extraction yields for each palm-age category. (P3)
