Palmoilmagazine.com, PADANG – In an effort to establish integrated, ecosystem-friendly, and sustainable palm oil governance, Andi Nur Alam Syah, the General Director of Plantation at the Ministry of Agriculture, stated that the government is implementing three key programs. These programs include the development of Pabrik Minyak Goreng (Pamigo), Peremajaan Sawit Rakyat (PSR), and Kelapa Sawit Tumpang Sari Tanaman Pangan (Kesatria).
Speaking at the Penas XVI talk show in Padang, Andi Nur emphasized the Directorate General of Plantation’s commitment to aligning regulations with on-the-ground conditions. The goal is to streamline plantation regulations by 2024, enabling palm oil and other commodities to thrive under simplified and favorable conditions.
He also mentioned, palm oil is one mainstay commodity in Indonesia, it does produce not only oil but also become material to produce cosmetic, biofuel, and the waste could be processed to be fertilizer.

“That is why every smallholders should innovate, be creative, not only to develop the upstream, but also the downstream within the right support to get more creative and innovative derivative products,” he said, as in the official statement to Palmoilmagazine.com, Monday (12/6/2023)
In the future, Andi continued, there would be palm oil products which are environmental and could penetrate the markets globally and would increase the revenue. (T2)
