PALMOILMAGAZINE, DONGGALA – The closure of access to the palm oil plantations owned by PT. Mamuang, a subsidiary of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk., in Central Sulawesi Province has resulted in grievances from the residents of Rio Mukti.
The villagers have raised concerns about the limited access hindering their ability to transport their fresh fruit bunch (FFB) harvest from their own plantations. Moreover, they have emphasized that the conflict between the local community and the company has persisted for several years.
Social conflict between the villagers and the subsidiary of PT. Astra Agro Lestari Tbk., has been told by non-government organization – Wahana Lingkungan Hidup or WALHI.
