Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto has outlined his primary policy agenda should he be elected in the 2025 presidential election, with a strong emphasis on ensuring energy security for the country.
Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the nation’s energy security. One of his key proposals involves harnessing local natural resources to generate energy. In a video posted by the YouTube channel GeloraTV on Saturday, September 2, 2023, Prabowo highlighted Indonesia’s abundant potential in this regard, citing resources such as cassava, sago, sugarcane, and sugar palm as viable sources for energy production.
He also said that diesel production potential from such plants would fulfill energy needs in this country. the approach would help reduce dependence on energy import from other countries, and would create energy sovereignty much bigger.

Besides, Prabowo also discussed about sensitive issue that palm oil from Indonesia is boycotted by European Union through European Union Deforestation Regulation. His response to the boycott is that he thanked (the continent) and planned to use palm oil to produce biodiesel and would be used by the people.
“Terima kasih lo boikot, gue pakai nanti kelapa sawit untuk bikin solar untuk rakyat,” Prabowo said.
The approach that Prabowo Subianto proposed would deliver bigger impacts than those which only about confirming available energy supply.
