PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has responded to media reports regarding the designation of 11 suspects by the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office in a case involving alleged irregularities in the export of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME). One of the suspects is reportedly affiliated with the Ministry.

“With regard to the Ministry official mentioned in media reports, the Minister of Industry has suspended the individual from all positions within the Ministry since the official began undergoing examination several months ago. The suspension was formalized through Ministerial Decree No. 14 of 2026 dated January 8, 2026,” Febri said in a statement quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com on Wednesday (February 11).

He explained that the decision was taken to ensure a smooth investigative process and to demonstrate the Ministry’s firm commitment to supporting legal proceedings.

The Ministry also emphasized its readiness to cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities, including providing any necessary information to facilitate the investigation.

Looking ahead, the Minister of Industry is expected to strengthen internal oversight mechanisms and enhance the integrity and accountability of officials within the institution. These measures aim to close potential loopholes in policy implementation and prevent similar incidents from recurring in the future. (P3)
