PALMOILMAGAZINE, BELITUNG— The PT Steelindo Wahana Perkasa (SWP) cooking oil processing plant was buzzing with heightened activity on Monday (May 19, 2025). Amid the hum of machinery and packing lines, Governor of Bangka Belitung Islands, Hidayat Arsani, visited the facility to observe firsthand the production process of this essential household commodity.

Accompanied by Acting Provincial Secretary Fery Afriyanto and East Belitung Deputy Regent Khairil Anwar, the governor was welcomed by the company’s management team. This site visit forms part of the local government’s efforts to ensure the smooth distribution and price stability of cooking oil in the Bangka Belitung region.

“Today we’re directly observing our local cooking oil production, together with the Deputy Regent. Alhamdulillah, distribution in the Bangka Belitung area is running well, and prices remain relatively stable,” said Hidayat after touring the production and packaging lines, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com via the Bangka Belitung Provincial Government on Tuesday (May 20, 2025).

The governor emphasized the strategic role of PT SWP in maintaining a steady supply of locally produced cooking oil. He praised the company’s commitment to consistently providing affordable products in the market. “Affordable cooking oil and stable prices like this must be preserved, as this directly impacts the economic well-being of our communities,” he asserted.

During the visit, the delegation observed various production stages — from volume calibration to the logistics system used to distribute products to retail outlets. Quality control and operational efficiency were highlighted as key priorities throughout the process.

PT SWP is recognized as one of the largest cooking oil producers in Bangka Belitung. With high production capacity and an integrated distribution network, the company plays a vital role in regional food security and market stability.
