The PT Bangka Mitra Mandiri palm oil mill is being built in Belinyu, Bangka Regency, with the local government expecting the investment to generate employment and stimulate new economic activity.
PALMOILMAGAZINE, BELINYU — Construction of a new palm oil mill has begun in Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, with the investment expected to create jobs and generate new economic opportunities for communities around the project site.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the PT Bangka Mitra Mandiri palm oil mill was held in Bukit Tulang Village, Riding Panjang Village, Belinyu District, on Wednesday (Sept. 16, 2026).
The ceremony was attended by the Bangka regent, representatives of the Bangka Regency administration and other stakeholders, marking the formal start of construction of the new processing facility.
For the Bangka Regency administration, the investment is significant not only because of the construction of new industrial infrastructure but also because of its potential wider economic impact.
The local government expects the project to generate employment and create new business opportunities for communities in and around the development area.

“We hope this investment will have a positive impact on the region and the community, particularly by creating jobs and economic opportunities for people living nearby,” the Bangka regent said, as quoted by PalmOilMagazine from the Bangka Regency Government on Saturday (September 26, 2026).
The regent also stressed the importance of communication and cooperation among the company, government and local communities throughout the development process.
Such coordination, he said, would be important to ensure that construction proceeds smoothly while complying with applicable regulations and taking into account the interests of surrounding communities.
