PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Fajarini Puntodewi, Head of the Trade Policy Agency (BKPerdag), met with Joseph D’Cruz, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), on Wednesday (18/9/2024) at the Ministry of Trade office in Jakarta to discuss strategic issues related to Indonesia’s palm oil sector. The meeting aimed to address the increasingly complex global trade challenges.
According to an official statement from Palmoilmagazine.com, the discussions centered on certification for smallholders, which is crucial for supporting sustainable trade. They also explored the potential impacts of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) on Indonesia’s palm oil exports to Europe.
RSPO, an international organization committed to sustainability in the palm oil industry, has approximately 200 members in Indonesia. The meeting was attended by key figures, including Guntur Prabowo, Head of RSPO’s Smallholder Programme; Kevin Bako, Senior Executive of Government Affairs at RSPO; Ari Satria, Secretary of the Trade Policy Agency; and Iman Kustiaman, Head of the International Trade Policy Center.
