PALMOILMAGAZINE JAKARTA – The Smallholders Replanting Program (SRP) has shown positive progress, according to the General Directorate of Plantation at the Ministry of Agriculture. Ardi Praptono, Director of Palm Oil Plants and Various Plants, reported that in 2023, the SRP covered 50 thousand hectares, and it is expected to reach 120 thousand hectares in 2024.

These figures are based on proposals submitted through the SRP online system. As of February 2024, the program is advancing at a rate of 10 thousand hectares per month.

However, the proposed increase in SRP funding from Rp 30 million to Rp 60 million per hectare has led some smallholders to delay their SRP proposals. They are hoping to benefit from the enhanced funding under the new policy.

“SRP implementation online directly helped data and technical recommendation process. In digital system, every smallholder that proposed SRP could directly know the administration and the process they had qualified,” Ardi recently said to Palmoilmagazine.com.

Now SRP would be for one ID of smallholders and their plantations should be maximally four hectares.

By having the positive trend, SRP is hoped to always contribute to escalate plantation productivity and sustainability in palm oil sectors in Indonesia. (P2)
