PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Johan Sukardi has officially been appointed as Chairman of the Alumni Association of the Stiper Agricultural Institute (KAINSTIPER) for the 2023–2028 term. A seasoned palm oil planter, Johan is committed to positioning KAINSTIPER as a strategic partner in advancing sustainable agriculture, plantation, and forestry sectors.
His appointment was confirmed during the 2023 KAINSTIPER National Congress (Munas), which brought together Instiper Yogyakarta alumni from across Indonesia. In his address, Johan emphasized that KAINSTIPER’s role goes beyond fostering alumni connections—it should also serve as a center for scientific research that can create real impact in the agriculture and plantation industries.
Since taking office, Johan has introduced several strategic initiatives, with a strong focus on strengthening KAINSTIPER’s role in food security and palm oil sustainability.

“We want KAINSTIPER to be actively present in strategic forums, deliver data-driven analysis, and become a trusted partner for both the government and the private sector,” Johan said in an interview with Palmoilmagazine.com.
As a first step, the 2023 Congress launched the Food Security Dialogue Forum, engaging academics, business players, and government institutions. Johan stated that this forum will continue to evolve into a platform that produces concrete policy recommendations.
On palm oil, Johan addressed the persistent negative campaigns from European countries, often viewed as trade competition strategies. He stressed that palm oil, as a vital commodity, must be protected through policies grounded in real field conditions.
“We will conduct scientific reviews of government policies to ensure regulations support investment and strengthen the competitiveness of the palm oil industry,” he asserted.

In addition to strategic programs in agriculture and plantations, Johan is also prioritizing organizational strengthening. This includes developing a comprehensive alumni database, establishing regional chapters in Eastern Indonesia, and organizing Regional Congresses (Musda) to reinforce the organization’s structure.
“We want Instiper alumni to be more united. Moving forward, we’ll initiate social programs and economic units to support the organization’s logistics,” he explained.
As part of alumni consolidation, KAINSTIPER is also planning to hold an anniversary celebration (Dies Natalis) at the end of the year. The event aims to strengthen alumni networks and foster solidarity among members from various regions. (P2)
