During the meeting, Dr. Rizal highlighted the progress of palm oil traceability tools in exporting countries, such as Indonesia’s National Dashboard and Malaysia’s e-Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (e-MSPO). These tools are designed to enhance the traceability and transparency of the palm oil supply chain in each country.

The NVWA representative explained that the European Commission’s online management tool for EUDR, known as TRACES, will be the primary platform for managing and monitoring compliance with deforestation regulations across Europe.

“CPOPC is committed to facilitating the technical meeting with the related authority in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Netherland. The meeting would discuss how to apply or use traceability tools available to support the obedience in EUDR,” CPOPC noted in its official website, as Palmoilmagazine.com quoted, Monday (27/5/2024).

It means the initiative would show the same effort to make sure that the palm oil supply chain would qualify sustainability standards as regulated by the European Union and escalate transparency and traceability in palm oil industries globally. (T2)
