PALMOILMAGAZINE, SIJUNJUNG – Over the past few days, the price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) in Pesisir Selatan (Pessel) has experienced a decline and even become significantly cheaper compared to other regions.
Novermal Yuska, a member of the Pessel Legislators, stated that FFB in Pessel is priced around Rp 300 less compared to Sijunjung. This statement was further confirmed by Bagus Budi Antoro, Chairman of Apkasindo District in Sijunjung.
Per 14 July 2023, FFB in mill of PT KPS was Rp 2.090 per kg for smallholders’ groups of Sijunjung and Rp 1.950 for public.

“In Pessel on 14 July 2023 in the mill of KPS it was Rp 1.710 and in MSL it was Rp 1.750 (Kemilau Grup). On 15 July 2023 in the mill of TEU it was Rp 1.765, in SDTN it was Rp 1.580, and in SJAL it was Rp 1.650 (Grup Incasi Raya),” he said to Palmoilmagazine.com, Sunday (16/7/2023).
Novermal said, two mills of Incasi Raya – SDTN and SJAL pressed more though the mills are next to the people’s plantations.
“In Sijunjung, FFB scale cut in the mill reached 3,5 to 6 percent while in Pessel it could be reaching 8 to 12 percent. What a big gap!” Novermal said.
Bagus Budi Antoro said in Sijunjung FFB is much better. The FFB scale cut is much smaller in numbers because there is firm smallholders’ instittuions, which is, Apkasindo.

“If FFB is not in normal price, the mill would get some demonstration. If it is denied, the entrance to the mill would be blocked. We just want normal price including new mill facility to get healthy competitive price,” Budi said.
That is why, back to Novermal, to get FFB price, at least, the same numbers as it is in Sijunjung, it needs action and efforts to escalate FFB price. “Insya Allah we would do action so that smallholders’ FFB price in Pessel would be the same as it is in Sijunjung,” he said. (T2)
