PALMOILMAGAZINE, PEKANBARU – Prices of independent smallholders’ fresh fruit bunches (FFB) in Riau Province for the period of May 13–19, 2026, officially declined following weaker crude palm oil (CPO) prices in both domestic and global markets.
Based on the results of the Riau Province Independent Palm Oil FFB Pricing Team meeting, as stated in Price Determination Letter No. 16 for the May 13–19, 2026 period, the price for 9-year-old palm trees fell by IDR 47.73 per kilogram to IDR 3,832.65 per kilogram.
The decline reflected ongoing pressure in the palm oil market amid softer export demand and fluctuations in global vegetable oil prices.

For the current pricing period, crude palm oil (CPO) was set at IDR 15,343.63 per kilogram, while palm kernel prices reached IDR 15,359.00 per kilogram. Shell value was determined at IDR 22.66 per kilogram, with the K index recorded at 92.22%.
According to data obtained by Palmoilmagazine.com from the Riau Provincial Plantation Agency, FFB prices varied across different plant age categories. Palm trees aged 3 years were priced at IDR 2,972.21 per kilogram, 4 years at IDR 3,311.85 per kilogram, 5 years at IDR 3,551.00 per kilogram, and 6 years at IDR 3,686.86 per kilogram.
Meanwhile, prices for 7-year-old palms were set at IDR 3,770.36 per kilogram, while 8-year-old palms reached IDR 3,815.65 per kilogram. The benchmark 9-year-old category was set at IDR 3,832.65 per kilogram.

For trees aged between 10 and 20 years, the FFB price was determined at IDR 3,794.46 per kilogram. Prices for older trees included IDR 3,732.20 per kilogram for 21-year-old palms, IDR 3,660.04 per kilogram for 22-year-old palms, IDR 3,577.97 per kilogram for 23-year-old palms, and IDR 3,515.71 per kilogram for 24-year-old palms.
Meanwhile, 25-year-old palms were priced at IDR 3,464.77 per kilogram. Older plantations recorded lower prices, with 26-year-old palms set at IDR 3,446.37 per kilogram, 27 years at IDR 3,418.08 per kilogram, 28 years at IDR 3,364.31 per kilogram, 29 years at IDR 3,324.69 per kilogram, and 30-year-old palms at IDR 3,234.12 per kilogram.

Industry players noted that the decline in independent FFB prices in Riau remains closely tied to volatility in the global CPO market, which continues to face pressure from slowing demand in key export destinations. (P3)
