North Sumatra Raises Palm Oil FFB Price to IDR 4,073.80/Kg for 10–20-Year-Old Trees

PALMOILMAGAZINE, MEDAN — The price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from oil palm smallholders participating in plasma partnerships in North Sumatra has increased for the August 26–September 2, 2026 pricing period.

The FFB price for oil palm trees aged 10–20 years was set at IDR 4,073.80 per kg, up IDR 156.30 per kg from the previous period’s IDR 3,917.50 per kg.

The increase was recorded across all oil palm age groups following a meeting of the North Sumatra Team for Setting FFB Prices for Plasma Partner Smallholders, held on August 26, 2026, at the Padi Hall of the North Sumatra Agriculture and Food Security Agency in Medan.

The price determination was based on CPO and palm kernel prices reported by palm oil companies operating in North Sumatra.

Based on data reviewed by PalmOilMagazine from the North Sumatra Agriculture and Food Security Agency, the FFB price for three-year-old oil palm trees was set at IDR 3,430.60/kg, while four-year-old trees were priced at IDR 3,657.76/kg.

The price for five-year-old trees reached IDR 3,784.76/kg, while six-year-old trees were set at IDR 3,896.74/kg. Seven-year-old trees were priced at IDR 3,869.05/kg, and eight-year-old trees at IDR 4,003.18/kg.

For nine-year-old trees, the FFB price reached IDR 4,040.69/kg. Trees aged 10–20 years were set at IDR 4,073.80/kg, while 21-year-old trees reached IDR 4,078.30/kg.

The FFB price for 22-year-old trees was set at IDR 4,040.00/kg, followed by IDR 3,983.44/kg for 23-year-old trees, IDR 3,860.50/kg for 24-year-old trees, and IDR 3,747.08/kg for 25-year-old trees.

For older plantations, the FFB price for 26-year-old trees was set at IDR 3,717.06/kg, while 27-year-old trees were priced at IDR 3,662.05/kg.

The price for 28-year-old trees reached IDR 3,604.00/kg, followed by IDR 3,544.26/kg for 29-year-old trees and IDR 3,484.53/kg for 30-year-old trees.

CPO Price and Factor K

For the current pricing period, the average local and export CPO price was set at IDR 16,072.74/kg, excluding value-added tax (VAT).

Meanwhile, the average local palm kernel price reached IDR 14,156.88/kg, with a Factor K of 94.15%.
