East Kalimantan Sets FFB Price at IDR 3,617.55/kg for Sept. 16–30

East Kalimantan’s benchmark fresh fruit bunch (FFB) price for partnered smallholders rose 0.37% in the second half of September, supported by CPO at IDR 15,471/kg and palm kernel at IDR 13,143.17/kg.

PALMOILMAGAZINE, SAMARINDA, INDONESIA — East Kalimantan has raised its benchmark fresh fruit bunch (FFB) price for partnered oil palm smallholders for the second half of September 2026, with the price for mature palms aged 10–20 years increasing to IDR 3,617.55 per kilogram.

The price, applicable from Sept. 16–30, rose IDR 13.18/kg, or 0.37%, from IDR 3,604.37/kg in the first half of September, according to the East Kalimantan Plantation Agency.

The benchmark serves as a reference for FFB transactions involving partnered smallholders in the province. Actual prices received by growers may vary depending on fruit quality, transaction conditions and applicable partnership arrangements.

 

FFB Prices Vary by Palm Age

The East Kalimantan government’s second-half September price schedule sets FFB at IDR 3,176.42/kg for three-year-old palms and IDR 3,277.71/kg for four-year-old palms.

Prices rise to IDR 3,368.53/kg for five-year-old palms, IDR 3,442.29/kg for six-year-old palms, and IDR 3,491.93/kg for seven-year-old palms.

For eight-year-old palms, the benchmark stands at IDR 3,548.29/kg, while nine-year-old palms are priced at IDR 3,591.83/kg.

The highest benchmark is applied to palms aged 10–20 years at IDR 3,617.55/kg.

The price then declines for older palms, falling to IDR 3,564.65/kg for 21-year-old trees, IDR 3,492.54/kg for 22-year-old trees, IDR 3,414.68/kg for 23-year-old trees, and IDR 3,375.85/kg for 24-year-old trees.

For palms aged 25 years, the benchmark is set at IDR 3,343.96/kg.

CPO and Palm Kernel Prices Support FFB Increase

The FFB price movement is closely linked to the CPO and palm kernel components used in the province’s pricing formula.

For the second half of September, the CPO price used in the calculation was IDR 15,471/kg, while the palm kernel price was set at IDR 13,143.17/kg.

The increase of IDR 13.18/kg, or 0.37%, in the benchmark FFB price reflects the commodity price components incorporated into the latest provincial calculation.

East Kalimantan’s FFB benchmark for 10–20-year-old palms therefore stands at IDR 3,617.55/kg for Sept. 16–30, 2026.

The provincial benchmark provides a reference for transactions between partnered smallholders and their business partners, although realized prices in the field can differ based on fruit quality, commercial terms and partnership agreements. (P3)
