West Sumatra’s palm oil FFB prices rose IDR 15.06/kg for Sept. 15–21, 2026, with prices for 10–20-year-old trees reaching IDR 4,042.71/kg.

PALMOILMAGAZINE, PADANG — Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for oil palm smallholders in West Sumatra rose by IDR 15.06 per kilogram during the third pricing period of September 2026, with the price for 10–20-year-old palms reaching IDR 4,042.71/kg for Sept. 15–21.

The latest price was up from IDR 4,027.65/kg in the previous period, representing an increase of about 0.37%.

The West Sumatra Provincial Oil Palm FFB Pricing Committee approved the new prices at a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026. The pricing decision, issued by the West Sumatra Plantation, Food Crops and Horticulture Agency, applies to partner Village Unit Cooperatives (KUDs) across the province.

FFB prices are determined based on the age of the oil palm trees, with the latest rates covering the Sept. 15–21, 2026 period.

The following are the officially determined FFB prices by tree age:

  • 3 years: IDR 3,173.69/kg
  • 4 years: IDR 3,354.18/kg
  • 5 years: IDR 3,553.59/kg
  • 6 years: IDR 3,669.07/kg
  • 7 years: IDR 3,811.70/kg
  • 8 years: IDR 3,952.82/kg
  • 9 years: IDR 4,031.56/kg
  • 10–20 years: IDR 4,042.71/kg
  • 21 years: IDR 3,887.26/kg
  • 22 years: IDR 3,880.58/kg
  • 23 years: IDR 3,821.55/kg
  • 24 years: IDR 3,642.97/kg
  • 25 years: IDR 3,601.79/kg

The pricing formula used an average crude palm oil (CPO) price of IDR 15,739.61/kg and a palm kernel price of IDR 13,790.46/kg.

The K Index, another key component in the FFB pricing formula, was set at 94.34%, while the shell value was recorded at IDR 15.63/kg.

The committee is scheduled to determine FFB prices for the fourth September period, covering Sept. 22–30, 2026, at a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 23. (P2)
