Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for plasma smallholders in North Sumatra increased across all plantation age groups for September 9–15, 2026, with palms aged 10–20 years recording the highest price at IDR 4,079.09 per kg.
PALMOILMAGAZINE, MEDAN — Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for plasma smallholders in Indonesia’s North Sumatra province rose across all plantation age groups for the September 9–15, 2026 period, according to the latest provincial price-setting decision.
The highest FFB price was set at IDR 4,079.09 per kg for palms aged 10–20 years, up IDR 22.77 per kg from IDR 4,056.32 per kg in the previous period.

The prices were set by the North Sumatra Provincial Agriculture and Food Security Agency on September 9, 2026, based on the official minutes of the FFB price-setting meeting for plasma smallholders.
For palms aged nine years, the FFB price rose IDR 22.50 per kg to IDR 4,045.81. The price for eight-year-old palms increased IDR 21.74 per kg to IDR 4,007.47.
The seven-year-old category was priced at IDR 3,874.29 per kg, up IDR 21.77 per kg, while the six-year-old category rose IDR 20.00 per kg to IDR 3,899.25.

For five-year-old palms, the price increased IDR 18.99 per kg to IDR 3,786.56, while four-year-old palms rose IDR 18.09 per kg to IDR 3,659.12.
The three-year-old category recorded an FFB price of IDR 3,432.16 per kg, an increase of IDR 17.16 per kg from IDR 3,415.00 previously.
Older Palms Also See Higher Prices
FFB prices for older palms also increased during the latest pricing period.
The price for palms aged 21 years rose IDR 22.34 per kg to IDR 4,082.94. For 22-year-old palms, the price increased IDR 21.69 per kg to IDR 4,043.96.

The 23-year-old category rose IDR 21.79 per kg to IDR 3,987.92, while 24-year-old palms were priced at IDR 3,864.13 per kg, up IDR 20.62.
For 25-year-old palms, the FFB price reached IDR 3,749.68 per kg, an increase of IDR 19.37 per kg.
The prices for palms aged 26 to 30 years were set at IDR 3,719.20, IDR 3,663.71, IDR 3,605.18, IDR 3,544.91 and IDR 3,484.64 per kg, respectively.

CPO Benchmark, K Factor
The latest FFB pricing calculation was based on an average local and export CPO price of IDR 16,244.53 per kg, excluding value-added tax.
The average local palm kernel price was set at IDR 13,883.94 per kg, also excluding VAT.

The K factor, which is used to calculate the FFB price received by plasma smallholders, was set at 93.74%.
The prices apply from September 9 through September 15, 2026.
The broad-based increase across all plantation age groups reflects stronger FFB pricing in North Sumatra during the latest period. Palms aged 10–20 years remained among the highest-priced categories, while the increase for that group reached IDR 22.77 per kg compared with the previous pricing period. (A3)
