North Sumatra’s plasma smallholder FFB prices declined across all oil palm age groups for Sept. 30–Oct. 6, 2026, amid lower benchmark CPO and palm kernel prices.
PALMOILMAGAZINE, MEDAN, INDONESIA — Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for plasma smallholders in Indonesia’s North Sumatra province fell across all age groups for the Sept. 30–Oct. 6, 2026 pricing period, with the benchmark price for 10–20-year-old palms declining IDR 169.53/kg to IDR 3,801.58/kg.
According to PalmOilMagazine’s review of the FFB pricing decision issued by the North Sumatra Agriculture and Food Security Agency, the latest price was down from IDR 3,971.11/kg in the previous period. The decision followed a meeting of the provincial plasma smallholder FFB pricing team on Sept. 30, 2026.

The decline reflected lower average benchmark prices for crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernels used in the provincial pricing formula.
FFB prices for 3-year-old palms were set at IDR 3,202.11/kg, down IDR 139.27/kg from the previous period. Prices for 4-year-old palms fell IDR 148.12/kg to IDR 3,414.22/kg, while 5-year-old palms declined IDR 153.74/kg to IDR 3,532.66/kg.
For 6-year-old palms, the price dropped IDR 159.07/kg to IDR 3,637.02/kg. The price for 7-year-old palms fell IDR 161.26/kg to IDR 3,610.46/kg.

FFB from 8-year-old palms was priced at IDR 3,735.92/kg, down IDR 165.49/kg, while the price for 9-year-old palms declined IDR 168/kg to IDR 3,770.72/kg.
The 10–20-year age group was priced at IDR 3,801.58/kg, down IDR 169.53/kg and representing the highest price among the main age categories.
For older plantations, the FFB price for 21-year-old palms fell IDR 168.92/kg to IDR 3,805.95/kg. The price for 22-year-old palms declined IDR 166.57/kg to IDR 3,770.37/kg, while 23-year-old palms were priced at IDR 3,717.44/kg, down IDR 164.93/kg.

FFB from 24-year-old palms was set at IDR 3,602.90/kg, down IDR 158.98/kg. The price for 25-year-old palms fell IDR 153.19/kg to IDR 3,497.28/kg.
Prices continued to decline for older palms, with 26-year-old palms at IDR 3,469.38/kg, 27-year-old palms at IDR 3,418.14/kg, and 28-year-old palms at IDR 3,364.08/kg.
The FFB price for 29-year-old palms was set at IDR 3,308.46/kg, down IDR 142.71/kg, while the price for 30-year-old palms fell IDR 139.67/kg to IDR 3,252.83/kg.
CPO and Palm Kernel Prices Weigh on FFB Benchmark
The North Sumatra pricing team used an average local and export CPO price of IDR 15,043.43/kg, excluding value-added tax, as one of the key references for the latest FFB calculation.
The average local palm kernel price was set at IDR 13,360.38/kg, also excluding VAT.
The calculation applied a “K” factor of 93.74% for plasma smallholder FFB.
The lower CPO and palm kernel benchmarks resulted in a broad-based correction in North Sumatra’s FFB prices for the latest pricing period.
