North Sumatra’s highest smallholder FFB price fell IDR95.08/kg to IDR3,974.88/kg for 21-year-old palms, while the provincial K Index stood at 93.74%.
PALMOILMAGAZINE, MEDAN — The reference price for fresh fruit bunches (FFB) produced by oil palm smallholders in North Sumatra fell for the Sept. 23–29, 2026 period, with the highest price set at IDR3,974.88 per kg for palms aged 21 years.
The price was down IDR95.08 per kg from IDR4,069.96 per kg in the previous period.

The FFB price was set by the North Sumatra Agriculture and Food Security Agency and applies to smallholder plantations based on palm age, ranging from three to 30 years.
CPO and Palm Kernel Prices
The calculation for the Sept. 23–29 period was based on an average local and export CPO price of IDR15,812.59 per kg, excluding value-added tax (VAT).
The average local palm kernel price was set at IDR13,524.84 per kg, also excluding VAT.

The K Index, which is used to calculate the FFB price received by smallholders, was set at 93.74% for the period.
Based on the provincial pricing formula, the highest FFB price was recorded for 21-year-old palms at IDR3,974.88 per kg, while the lowest was set at IDR3,392.50 per kg for palms aged 30 years.
