Analysis of carbon brief in October 2021 revealed that, Indonesia was in the fifth rank in the biggest emission provider since 1850. It contributed 4%. Central Bureau of Statistic noted that carbon emission in Indonesia reached 932.000 tons of dioxide carbon (CO2) in 2001. The numbers increased to be 1,15 million tons of CO2 in 2017.
The biggest contributors were from forestry, energy sectors, forestry and other land use (FOLU). In 2021 Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resource mentioned, carbon dioxide emission in Indonesia reached 1.262 gigatons. The government targeted renewable energy mixture 23% in 2025.
“Every party needs to be serious to reduce carbon emission in this country. Carbon exchange could be one to support by having business ecosystem in each institution.
