PALMOILMAGAZINE, BOGOR – PT Mutuagung Lestari (MUTU International), a test, inspection, and certification (TIC) company, has announced its readiness to support the upcoming carbon exchange program scheduled to commence in September 2023. The company is positioned to serve as a verification and validation institution for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, having received accreditation from the National Accreditation Committee (Komite Akreditasi Nasional or KAN).
Arifin Lambaga, the President Director of MUTU International, stated that as a TIC company, they are fully prepared to contribute to the successful implementation of the carbon exchange initiative. MUTU International holds the distinction of being an accredited Green-House Gas Verification and Validation Institute (GHG VVI) since 105 (presumably referring to the year). The company is equipped to conduct assessments, including validation and verification, in accordance with ISO/IEC 14065:2020, which outlines general principles and requirements for bodies validating and verifying environmental information.
“MUTU International has business ecosystem which is adjusted with carbon exchange which is, accreditation as GHG VVI by KAN. The validation and verification are one major business in MUTU International. Until now the company published 11 (eleven) GHG VV report in many schemes and programs. 8 (eight) would be and are running this year. MUTU International also published 105 certificate in International Sustainable Carbon Certification (ISCC) scheme in 2022,” Arifin said in Jakarta (22/5/2023).

MUTU International also did validation and verification on project based on ISO 14064-2 which is series of GHG system that provides sustainability program for organization to escalate efficient energy process in customer business. MUTU also becomes third party entry (TPE) that validates and verifies project within joint credit mechanism (JCM), which is the same committee with Japanese and Indonesia that have the same vision to minimize carbon emissoion by saving energy within high efficient technology for business in service, process, and or manufacture industries.
Besides, MUTU International also does verification to annual emission report that airways conducted through Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), which is, a scheme established by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to minimize CO2 exhaust gas in international flights.
Director of Mutu International, Irham Budiman said that MUTU International contributed as validation and verification institution which is independent to get carbon economic assessment that delivers assessment to Documen Rancangan Aksi Mitigasi (DRAM) and as verificator that delivered assessment about implementation and monitoring reports on mitigation action by mitigation action oranizers in SRN PPI registration process and test to publish GHG reduction certificate.
Potential of Carbon Exchange
Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) is preparing carbon exchange that the target would be launched in September 2023 and would be running at Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). The preparation covers carbon trade regulation and mechanism at BEI. Carbon exchange is regulated in the Laws Number 4 / 2023 about Development and Reinforcement in Financial Sector.
