Airlangga Hartarto Responds to Attorney Summons on CPO Export Permit Corruption Allegations

PALMOILMAGAZINE,  JAKARTA – After initially not attending the summons from The Attorney’s office, Coordinator Minister of Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, finally appeared for questioning on Monday (24/7/2023). He arrived at the Attorney’s office in a Toyota car with license plate B 2585 SJI. Upon arrival, he engaged in conversations with numerous journalists present and even gave a thumbs-up gesture.

Airlangga’s involvement in this case is as a witness regarding the corruption assumption concerning the export permits of crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivatives, including palm cooking oil, during the period of 2021 to 2022.

Prior the Attorney sentenced three corporates as the suspects in CPO and its derivative export permit corruption assumption. They are, Wilmar Group, Permata Hijau Group, and Musim Mas Group. The case is still in investigation. The loss of the case according to the cassation of the Supreme Court which is incraht reached Rp 6,47 trillion.

In the same case, five men were sentenced in the case and they are incraht. Now their status is convicted.  (T2)
