PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Palm oil and its derivative are the main export products from Indonesia (contributed almost 81,4% of the total plantation product industrial exports), knowing that Indonesia is the biggest palm oil producer in the world.
Palm oil is the industrial downstream model that could encourage additional value exports from the domestic industrial business.
Director of Plantation and Forest Product Industry General Directorate of Agro-Industry, Ministry of Industry, Merrijantij Punguan Pintaria said that it is important to get downstream plantation industries to escalate export values.

Ministry of Industry would support plantation downstream development. Agro industry – sector contributed 50,20% to gross domestic product of non-oil and gas industry.
“Plantation product industries play important roles for agro industries. In 2022, the total exports from plantation produt industries reached US$ 36,55 billion or about 568,9 trillion rupiah. Meanwhile General Director of Plantation, Andi Nur Alam Syah hoped that by having Perkebunan Expo, there would be place to interact, cooperate, and innovate among stakeholders in Indonesia to realize harmony in plantation subsector entrepreneurs which are innovative, competitive, dynamic, and developing always.
“Indonesia would reinforce (everything) to face the challenges in national and global scale, would collaborate to accelerate cooperation among stakeholders in plantation to get plantation sectors go forward and welfare the planters of Indonesia,” Andi Nur said. (T2)
