PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Ilham Djaya, the Head of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Office in South Sumatera, has been actively encouraging villagers to innovate for their benefit. During a coordination meeting with the Directorate of Patent, Integrated Circuit Layout Design, and Trade Secret within the General Directorate of Intellectual Property at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Ilham emphasized the importance of collaboration to ensure the success of patent proposals.
Ilham revealed that several patent proposals had been submitted in the province, one of which involved utilizing palm oil shells to produce briquettes as an alternative fuel source, named “Briket Zaket,” aimed at promoting renewable energy. Unfortunately, these proposals faced rejection due to insufficient supporting data.
“It is crucial for those proposing patent rights to cooperate closely with relevant authorities to ensure comprehensive supporting data,” Ilham stated before the Director of Patent and Patent, Integrated Circuit Layout Design, and Trade Secret.

He further elaborated on the invention, describing it as a form of bioenergy derived from palm oil shells using natural adhesive materials. The production of these briquettes aims to replace the use of fossil fuels, such as crude oil and coal, in various applications such as cooking, room heating, and industrial processes.

The invention should have high calories and used extrusion technology and advanced carbonization. The technology should produce efficient and environmental briquettes without producing dangerous smoke whan it burns. (T2)
