PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – During a bustling session at Ruang Publik Terpadu Ramah Anak (RPTRA) Gebang Sari in Kelurahan Bambu Apus, East Jakarta, one standout event was a counseling session on initiating and growing creative entrepreneurship through social media. This initiative was led by Pengabdian Masyarakat (PM) from Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI).
Woro Dwi Hartanti, along with team members Gurharnawan, Fajri Ariandi, and Hieronimus Erwin Indrawan from UBSI, spearheaded the session aimed at enhancing understanding of entrepreneurship in the digital age for the Tim Penggerak Pemberdayaan Kesejateraan Keluarga (TP PKK) of Kelurahan Bambu Apus.
The counseling focused on leveraging social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook to develop and expand business networks, building upon previous discussions that emphasized entrepreneurship as a mindset and solution for creating new values for oneself and others.

“The world changes fast namely for housewives. Social media delivers not only the negative but the big positive potentially, for instance, delivering good information and chances to get income,” he said, as in the official statement to Palmoilmagazine.com, Monday (24/6/2024).
The involvement of PKK in the activity also emphasized the commitment to develop their ability locally by using social media.
Yuni, the representative of PKK said that the counseling would be the same with their efforts to develop their independency on Instagram, as the platform to escalate the people’s awareness and get new members.
Besides delivering practical training about making content in social media to be more interesting, the activity also discussed the strategies to use advertisement to escalate the socialization scopes and impacts from social media that PKK would manage.
By the counseling, team of PM would qualify not only the academic obligation in beban kerja dosen (BKD) this semester but also deliver real contribution to empower the people by education and training. These would develop not only creative and adaptive entrepreneurship locally but also would help escalate the families’ welfare by escalating their income and wider information access.
Public services like this would be relevant not only in the academic context but also be the important moment to positively get collaboration among the university, local communities, and governments to reach out inclusive and sustainable development.
