Central Kalimantan Establishes RAD KSB Formulation Team for Sustainable Palm Oil

PALMOILMAGAZINE, PALANGKARAYA – The Central Kalimantan Province Plantation Agency held a meeting to officially establish the Formulation Team for the Regional Action Plan for Sustainable Palm Oil (RAD KSB) for 2023-2026.

The team was inaugurated by H. Rizky Ramadhana Badjuri, Head of the Plantation Agency, at the Aquarius Boutique Hotel in Palangka Raya on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

In his speech, Rizky noted that the formation of the RAD KSB Formulation Team was a follow-up to the focus group discussion (FGD) held on July 23-24, 2024. The team’s objective is to develop strategies and initiatives that will support and promote the sustainable growth of the palm oil industry in Central Kalimantan.

Rizky also explained about the Government’s Regulation Number 38 / 2023 about Palm Oil Plantation Profit Sharing that was based on the Regulation of Minister of Finance (RMF) Number 91 / 2023 about Palm Oil Profit Sharing Management. Based on the RMF, Central Kalimantan Province and 14 regencies/cities would get the different allocation based on each region.

“Palm oil profit sharing would be the fund result that would be allocated based on the CPO and its derivative products’ export duties and export citation,” Rizky said, as Palmoilmagazine.com quoted from the official page of Central Kalimantan Province, Sunday (18/8/2024).

He continued, the numbers of the profit sharing would be from some indicators, such as, numbers of plantations and the productivity.

It would be used to fund some activities, such as, develop and maintain the ways, get data of smallholders’ plantations, formulate RAD KSB, get Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certificate, rehab the forests and areas, deliver social protection for palm oil plantation labors that were not registered in social insurance.

The meeting was attended by many heads of agencies in the province, representatives of National Land Agency Central Kalimantan Province, chairman of Asosiasi Petani Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (Apkasindo), independent smallholders’ forums, and some civil organizations, such as, Yayasan Javlec, WWF Indonesia, and Teropong.

The formulation team establishment is hoped to reinforce the effort of the province to develop sustainable palm oil plantations and contribute positively to the economy in the region. (P2)
