PALMOILMAGAZINE, WEST ACEH– Ahmad Yani, a member of the West Aceh Legislature, urged the regency to conduct a thorough study on the Kerjasama Pemerintah dengan Badan Usaha (KPBU) scheme for palm oil plantations. He believes this approach could effectively develop abandoned areas and boost economic growth for communities lacking the capital to cultivate the land.
“The concept of a people’s palm oil KPBU could be an alternative for developing new plantations, particularly for those with limited financial access. Many areas remain unproductive and abandoned, and they require government initiatives. We fully support the KPBU scheme,” Yani stated, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com from AJNN on Saturday (24/8/2024).
Yani further noted that if the scheme is successfully implemented, the amount of abandoned land in the regency would decrease, transforming it into productive areas. Additionally, the scheme would positively impact financially disadvantaged communities, helping them achieve economic progress with government support.

He also hoped the regency would immediately formulate the clear concept about KPBU so every abandoned area in the regency would maximally be cultivated to escalate the people’s lives.
