Indonesia’s palm oil exports surged to 3.275 million tons in June 2026, driven by stronger shipments to India, China, Pakistan and other key markets, pushing export value to US$3.92 billion.
PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA — Indonesia’s palm oil exports jumped sharply in June 2026, with total shipments reaching 3.275 million metric tons, up 64.08% from 1.996 million tons in May, according to the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI).
The increase was driven primarily by stronger exports of processed palm oil products, crude palm oil (CPO), and processed palm kernel oil (PKO) products.

Processed palm oil exports rose 66% month-on-month to 2.357 million tons in June from 1.423 million tons in May. CPO exports recorded an even sharper increase, surging from just 31,000 tons in May to 335,000 tons in June—an increase of around 980%.
Exports of processed palm kernel oil products also more than doubled, rising from 55,000 tons to 116,000 tons, representing growth of approximately 110%.
“An increase was also recorded in exports of processed palm kernel oil products, which rose from 55,000 tons to 116,000 tons, or around 110%,” GAPKI Executive Director Mukti Sardjono said in an official statement received by PalmOilMagazine on Thursday (Aug. 27, 2026).

First-Half Exports Rise 5.79%
On a cumulative basis, Indonesia exported 16.595 million tons of palm oil products during January–June 2026. That was 5.79% higher than the 15.686 million tons recorded during the same period in 2025.

Palm Oil Export Value Reaches US$3.92 Billion
GAPKI reported that the value of palm oil product exports reached US$3.92 billion in June 2026, up 57.45% from US$2.49 billion in May.
The increase in export value was largely supported by the substantial growth in shipment volumes, despite a correction in average CPO export prices.

Indonesia’s average CPO export price fell 4.32% month-on-month to US$1,174 per ton in June from US$1,227 per ton in May. The decline was in line with weaker prices on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange (MDEX), where the average price slipped from around US$1,134 per ton in May to US$1,107 per ton in June.
Despite the monthly price correction, Indonesia’s cumulative palm oil export value during the first half of 2026 increased 12.57% year-on-year to US$19.45 billion, compared with US$17.277 billion in January–June 2025.
The average CPO export price during the first six months of 2026 stood at US$1,132 per ton, above the US$1,088-per-ton average recorded in the same period last year.

Exports to India jumped by 328,000 tons, or around 396%, compared with May. Shipments to China increased by 256,000 tons, representing 67% growth.
Exports to Pakistan rose by 132,000 tons, or 88%, while shipments to Malaysia increased by 129,000 tons, or 149%. Exports to Africa also climbed by 114,000 tons, up 45%.

Bangladesh recorded an increase of 98,000 tons, or approximately 133%, while exports to the United States rose by 85,000 tons, or 64%.
In contrast, exports to Russia declined by 25,000 tons, or around 20%. Shipments to the European Union-27 edged down by approximately 4,000 tons, or 2%.
Over the January–June 2026 period, cumulative palm oil exports to China were 31% higher than a year earlier. Exports to Malaysia rose 13%, while shipments to Russia increased 7%. Exports to Africa and Bangladesh each grew 4%.
The gains were partially offset by weaker shipments to several major destinations. Cumulative exports to the United States fell 8% year-on-year, while shipments to India and Pakistan each declined 7%. Exports to the EU-27 edged down 1%.

End-June Palm Oil Stocks Reach 2.844 Million Tons
GAPKI data also showed that Indonesia entered the second half of 2026 with palm oil stocks of 2.844 million tons.
The calculation included beginning stocks of 2.068 million tons and total CPO and PKO production of 30.284 million tons during January–June 2026.
Domestic consumption during the period reached 12.994 million tons, while exports totaled 16.595 million tons. Indonesia also recorded palm oil imports of 32,000 tons.
The figures indicate that higher palm oil production during the first half of 2026 was accompanied by stronger domestic consumption and exports. However, robust demand from both domestic and international markets kept stocks under pressure, with inventories at the end of June lower than the previous month.
