PALMOILMAGAZINE, LANDAK – On Monday (26/08/2024), Commission B of the Landak Regional Legislature held a hearing to address issues related to the Acquisition Fee on Building and Land Rights (AFBLR) from palm oil plantation companies in the Landak Regency.
A major point of concern was the Wilmar Group, which has been operating in the region for decades without obtaining proper business permits.
Evi Juvenalis, SH, Chair of Commission B, emphasized that the expected revenue from AFBLR has not materialized. “We’ve given palm oil companies a deadline to finalize their business permits by September 2024.

This needs to be resolved quickly, as the company has been operating for decades without the required permits,” Evi stated, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com from strateginews.id on Saturday (31/8/2024).
Evi also warned that if the issue isn’t resolved promptly, the legislature may escalate the matter to higher legal authorities or form a special committee. However, she stressed the importance of maintaining a positive investment climate in the region.
“If Landak’s regional revenue targets are not met due to low contributions from palm oil companies, we will recommend that the relevant agency take firm action in accordance with the regulations,” she added.
In the meeting, Landak Legislators also warned the technical agency to immediately establish acceleration team to deliver solution on business rights issue. Evi emphasized the companies should be committed to pay their obligation as the available regulations.
To respond it, the representative of PT. Daya Landak Plantation (DLP) Wilmar Group, Ervin said that the company would accelerate to get business permit. “We would obey every available regulation and be in process. But we need help from the regional government to solve every issue to get business rigts,” Ervin said.
Until now there are five plantation companies managed by Wilmar Group that have no business rights in the Regency of Landak, they are, PT. Putra Indotropical, PT. Indoresin Putra Mandiri, PT. Pratama Prosentindo, PT. Agronusa Investama, and PT. Daya Landak Plantation. The companies should get business permits to confirm their contribution optimally to deliver revenue for the region and continuous operation as the available regulation. (P2)
