PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA — Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni has confirmed the authenticity and validity of Ministerial Decree No. 32 dated January 31, 2025, which recently circulated among the public. The document outlines changes to the structure of the Operation Management Office (OMO) for Indonesia’s Forestry and Other Land Use (FOLU) Net Sink 2030, amending the previous Decree No. 234 of 2024 issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

“This Ministerial Decree is a public document and fully accessible to the public,” Raja Juli Antoni stated in an official release received by Palmoilmagazine.com on Saturday (April 19, 2025), emphasizing that the management of this national strategic program is fully transparent.

He explained that the structural changes made to the OMO in 2025 are part of efforts to improve and optimize the organization in supporting the achievement of Indonesia’s FOLU Net Sink 2030 target — a major national commitment to balancing carbon emissions and absorption in the forestry and land-use sectors.

“The OMO team consists of civil servants (ASN), former civil servants, and external experts with the capacity to support the Ministry in reaching this ambitious goal,” he added.

Addressing public concerns regarding OMO funding, Raja Juli stressed that financing continues to come from international donors and/or partner countries. “I assure you that OMO activities do not utilize funds from the State Budget (APBN),” he said firmly.

The revised organizational structure is expected to enhance cross-sector coordination and strengthen the governance of the FOLU Net Sink 2030 program, a key component of Indonesia’s contribution to global climate change mitigation efforts.

The Forestry Ministry has also committed to maintaining public dialogue and involvement in every strategic step of the FOLU program, including providing regular updates on OMO’s implementation and evaluations. (P2)
