PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – The government has issued area certificates for the Smallholders Replanting Program (SRP), which will cover a total of 37,000 hectares. This includes 17,600 hectares from social forestry and 19,400 hectares from Tanah Objek Reforma Agraria (TORA).

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, reported that by June 2024, SRP funding had reached Rp 9.6 trillion. This funding has supported 154,886 planters across approximately 344,792 hectares. Smallholders will receive additional funding, increasing from Rp 30 million to Rp 60 million per hectare, with the goal of boosting plantation productivity to 24 tons per fresh fruit bunch per hectare.

The smallholders’ plantations in TORA could immediately proposed SRP fund from Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) according to the mechanism as regulated in the Regulation of Minister of Agriculture Number 3 / 2022. While the smallholders’ plantations in social forestry program, should wait for the regulation perfection to propose and get SRP fund helps.

As in the official statement to Palmoilmagazine.com, Friday (9/8/2024), the government has arranged the president’s regulation draft about The Strategy and Sustainable Palm Oil Action Plans Nationally in 2025 – 2029, that would substitute President’s Instruction Number 6 / 2019.

At the Festival Lingkungan, Iklim, Kehutanan, dan Energi Baru Terbarukan (LIKE) 2 on Friday (9/08), Airlangga said that it would be significant to solve area issue in forest region. This would cover the cultivation of smallholders’ plantation to support good agriculture in plantation sectors.

In the event, President Joko Widodo also handed over decision for many that got the advantages. In detail, the certificates were about Decision of TORA (Blue Decision) that would cover 43.100 hectares and Social Forestry Decision that would cover 1.085.276 hectares. Besides, the acknowledgement of indigenous forest that laid on 15.879 hectares was handed over for the indigenous people.

Airlangga said that those that got TORA decision and Green decision would get development from many parties, such as, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Village, The Enterprises, Ministry of Public Work and People’s Housing to escalate business capacity by having integration in regional and village – scales.
