A key focus of the socialization was to inform attendees about the cultivation documents required for certification and government assistance. During the event, Tavipiyono also launched “Perkebunan Jempol,” an initiative aimed at providing support, including superior seeds and fertilizers, to boost plantation productivity.

Before ending the socialization, there was interactive discussion. Every participant, including the smallholders and many heads of villages delivered their opinions and inputs. One participant hoped that the villagers should get involved in the decision making about the plantations. “We want that what we tell here, can be listened to get what we need. With the right supports, we believe to increase our plantation output,” he said.

The Regency of Bengkalis would be committed to keep supporting their plantations to increase their welfare. By the socialization it is hoped that there would be better cooperation between the government and the villagers to make plantation sectors go forward in the regency. (P2)
