Riau Plasma FFB Prices Near IDR4,000/kg on Strong Palm Oil Market

PALMOILMAGAZINE, PEKANBARU – Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) prices for plasma smallholder oil palm plantations in Riau Province recorded another increase for the pricing period of May 27 to June 2, 2026, reflecting stronger support from crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel markets.

Based on the results of the Riau Provincial FFB Pricing Team meeting, as stipulated in FFB Pricing Decree No. 18, the price for nine-year-old oil palm trees rose by IDR 65.73 per kilogram compared to the previous period.

With the adjustment, the FFB price for nine-year-old palms was set at IDR 3,932.63 per kilogram, providing a positive boost for plasma smallholders amid continued fluctuations in the global palm oil market.

The pricing team also set the CPO reference price at IDR 15,311.62 per kilogram, while palm kernel prices were determined at IDR 15,295.58 per kilogram. Shell values were recorded at IDR 19.15 per kilogram, with the K index established at 93.30%.

According to data obtained by Palmoilmagazine.com from the Riau Provincial Plantation Agency, FFB prices across various tree-age categories remained at competitive levels. Prices for three-year-old palms were set at IDR 3,041.30 per kilogram, four-year-old palms at IDR 3,438.43 per kilogram, five-year-old palms at IDR 3,641.27 per kilogram, six-year-old palms at IDR 3,798.39 per kilogram, seven-year-old palms at IDR 3,881.22 per kilogram, and eight-year-old palms at IDR 3,926.93 per kilogram.

For mature plantations aged between 10 and 20 years, the FFB price was set at IDR 3,912.63 per kilogram. Meanwhile, prices for 21-year-old palms reached IDR 3,852.63 per kilogram, 22-year-old palms IDR 3,795.48 per kilogram, 23-year-old palms IDR 3,734.05 per kilogram, 24-year-old palms IDR 3,666.91 per kilogram, and 25-year-old palms IDR 3,591.20 per kilogram.

Older plantations also recorded solid price levels, with 26-year-old palms priced at IDR 3,545.48 per kilogram, 27-year-old palms at IDR 3,499.76 per kilogram, 28-year-old palms at IDR 3,455.47 per kilogram, 29-year-old palms at IDR 3,438.33 per kilogram, and 30-year-old palms at IDR 3,424.05 per kilogram.

The latest increase in FFB prices highlights the continued strength of palm oil derivative markets, particularly CPO and palm kernels, which remain the primary components in determining plasma FFB prices. The higher pricing is expected to support smallholder incomes in Riau while encouraging continued efforts to improve plantation productivity and sustainability. (P3)
