PALMOILMAGAZINE, PANGKALPINANG – The Industry and Trade Agency of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel) Province organized a technical training session on palm oil product diversification for micro, small, and medium-sized businessmen (MSMB) in Babel Province. The training took place on Tuesday (19/6/2023) at Hotel Puncak Pangkalpinang.
The speakers at the event were Mimin Aminah from IPB and Gelar Satya Budhi, the Director of People’s Empowerment at IREEM. During his speech, Tarmin, the Head of the Industry and Trade Agency in Babel Province, emphasized the importance of palm oil downstream processes to optimize the value of derivative products. These downstream processes can lead to higher value-added products, including those for the food sector such as palm cooking oil, nutrition, chemical ingredients, and renewable energy.

He continued, it is hoped the export commodities would not be materials, but in derivative products or products to increase the price and in the end, it would increase the revenue by having downstream industries.
He also thought, palm oil industries and product diversification are better, both in this country and in the world. This sector would be more strategic for having big chance to play the roles as the economic development motor nationally, revenue provider, and hire many workers.
“I hope by this technical training, product diversification from our palm oil would be in synergy to develop the future downstream industries, Amin,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Industrial Plan and Development, Subekti Saputra as the Chairman of the event said, the product training in palm oil material is about to get additional values from raw palm oil. The participants were 20 men from MSMB in the province. (T2)
