PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Head of Organization and Membership SPKS, Sabarudin said that the 2023 meeting would be important for many smallholders. The meeting also has four main goals, such as, the first, encourage to reinforce smallholders’ institution or independent smallholders’ cooperation as part to succeed the government’s programs, such as, biodiesel mandatory and smallholders replanting program.
The second, encourage smallholders’ welfare through material supply chain partnership between their institutions and companies that operate biodiesel mandatory program.
The third, expand the roles of Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) to support fund for independency, welfare, and sustainability of smallholders. The fourth, to become a forum that encourages collaboration to reinforce smallholders’ bargaining position in Indonesia.
Biodiesel program (mixing crude palm oil to diesel) has been running since 2016 and got fund from Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA). Unfortunately, many independent smallholders do not directly get advantage from the program.
