PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – In the era of advancing technology, product processing should also evolve. The Pusat Registrasi dan Sertifikasi Halal from the Halal Product Assurance Agency stated that differentiating between halal and non-halal products is becoming increasingly challenging.
“That is why it is essential to verify every material used by ensuring traceability and halal assurance,” said a representative from the Pusat Registrasi dan Sertifikasi Halal during the Halal Certification Socialization event for crude palm oil (CPO). The event, organized by the Indonesian Palm Oil Plantation (IPOA), took place in mid-May 2024, as reported by Palmoilmagazine.com on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
Ensuring halal products is crucial because it provides legal certainty about their availability and protection for food, beverages, medicine, cosmetics, and other goods and services for consumers. Moreover, halal certification enhances the added value and competitiveness of Indonesian halal products on both national and international scales.

“To realize the goal of publishing halal product guarantee, many regulations have been published, including the Laws Number 33 / 2014 about Halal Product Guarantee. It is about the implementation of halal products and decisions of products that should have halal certificates.
Palm oil is categorized in the first phase category that should get halal certificate. The products from palm oil to get halal certificates are refined bleached deodorized palm kernel oil (RBDPKO), refined bleached deodorized palm oil (RBDPO), refined bleached deodorized palm olein, refined bleached deodorized palm stearin (RBDPS) and palm cooking oil.
It is hoped that the consumers would feel safe and secured while consuming or using products within halal certificates. (T2)
