PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Not many oil palm plantations are managed independently from the first generation and continued to the next generation. However, Adi, a young and tall man, decided to continue his family’s legacy.
Adi attended the 2024 National Planter Seminar of Indonesia (SNPI) in Jakarta, themed “Implementing the Latest Innovations to Increase Palm Oil Productivity and Achieve Sustainable Palm Oil.”
Adi, a graduate of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan in Yogyakarta, chose to continue and manage the palm oil plantations that his parents cultivated in Batam. “Only two hectares, sir,” he said with a smile to Palmoilmagazine.com on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

He plans to manage the plantations with his elder brother. However, to gain more knowledge about palm oil cultivation, Adi decided to attend the 2024 SNPI. “I just want to know more how to cultivate our family’s plantation in best management practices,” he said.
It was the first time for him to join SNPI. He did not know other participants. He himself joined it to know more. In the spot, Adi seriously listened to every presentation from the speakers. He also questioned and commented if the price would be very expensive in the cultivation.
Adi is the real sample of one excited young generation that want to continue and develop his family’s palm oil plantation. His participation in the 2024 SNPI should deliver innovation and best practices in Indonesia’s palm oil industries. (T2)
