PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s Attorney General’s Office, through the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH), has recorded another major milestone in safeguarding state finances and restoring governance in forest areas.

During an official briefing on Friday (April 10, 2026), Attorney General ST Burhanuddin announced the sixth phase of administrative penalty transfers, emphasizing transparency and tangible results in law enforcement within the forestry sector.

A total of IDR11.42 trillion has been returned to the state treasury. “This transfer reflects accountability, with funds collected from multiple sources,” he stated.

The largest contribution, amounting to IDR7.236 trillion, came from enforcement actions and forestry-related business compliance under the task force’s operations. In addition, non-tax state revenue (PNBP) generated from asset recovery efforts between January and March 2026 reached IDR1.967 trillion, while tax revenues collected from January to April 2026 stood at IDR967 billion.

Beyond financial recovery, the task force has also made substantial progress in reclaiming forest land. Since February 2025, approximately 5.888 million hectares of oil palm plantation areas have been brought back under state control. In the mining sector, an additional 10,020 hectares of forest land have also been secured.

In this sixth phase, the government formally handed over 254,780.12 hectares of forest areas back to relevant ministries and agencies. These include conservation and production forests suitable for rehabilitation, located in regions such as Ketapang, West Kalimantan, as well as the Gunung Halimun and Gunung Salak forest parks in Bogor.

Management of these areas will be continued by relevant government institutions, including the Ministry of Finance, with certain areas entrusted to PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara for further development and oversight.

Since its establishment in February 2025, Satgas PKH has successfully secured a total of IDR371.10 trillion in state financial assets.

Burhanuddin stressed that firm law enforcement is essential to protecting national assets. Weak enforcement, he warned, could lead to significant losses in state revenue, asset control, and public trust.

He also highlighted Indonesia’s vast natural resource potential and strategic global position, noting that value creation remains suboptimal as the country still relies heavily on raw commodity exports.

In this context, he underscored that law enforcement must serve as a pillar of national policy to promote social justice and public welfare.

“Law enforcement and public welfare are inseparable. Strong enforcement improves governance and delivers real economic benefits,” he affirmed.

Closing his remarks, Burhanuddin expressed appreciation for the task force’s coordinated efforts and reiterated that natural resource management must prioritize the broader public interest rather than narrow group benefits. (P2)
