PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAYAPURA – The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) took initiative through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, providing support in the form of business aid in the fishery, livestock sectors, and transportation through motorcycles.
This assistance, sourced from various foundations, aims to boost productive economic activities among the people in Papua Province. The distribution of aid took place on December 19, 2023.
Karel Yarangga, Head of Plantation at the Agriculture Agency of Papua Province, participated in the event, representing the governor of Papua. In his address, he expressed the hope for strong collaboration between IPOA and the local government.

Emphasizing the importance of educating the public about the palm oil industry in the province, he acknowledged the industry’s unclear reputation. Additionally, Karel Yarangga highlighted the potential for investment in the province.
In his speech Chairman of IPOA, Eddy Martono told food supplies are highly needed in Papua, particularly, egg, catfish, and milkfish. To support those, IPOA delivered helps – 5.000 small catfish and milkfish, and also woof for the religious students of Latifa Mubarokah Arso 4 and Hidayatullah Holtekam.
The other helps covered 1.000 laying hens, cages, and chickens for the students of Nurul Anwar Sentani and Yayasan Laskar Kristus (Panti Asuhan Kanaan Jaya). In addition, IPOA also handed over one motor bike as transportation tool.

“It was not much but we hope that the helps would trigger them to develop business to get more increasing and fulfilling their daily needs through the coordinators of each foundation,” Eddy said, as in the official statement to Palmoilmagazine.com, Tuesday (19/12/2023).
It was attended by central IPOA coordinators and coordinators in Papua, coordinators of Yayasan Laskar Kristus Kampung Dosay, Pesantren Hidayatullah Holtekam, Pesantren Latifa Mubarokah Arso 4, and Pesantren Nurul Anwar Sentasi.
Chairman of Yayasan Laskar Kristus saluted the care and concern of IPOA to help the children that derived from conflict areas in Papua. He told that many would be done to escalate the welfare of Papua people and the helps would be the first things from private companies for the foundations in the province. (T2)
