PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – PROPER is the initiative from Ministry of Environment and Forestry for the companies to deliver awards that showed superior performances in environment cultivation and management, doing eco-innovation, social innovation, and leadership in environment. It is the award as the support for the companies to obey and implement the regulations about environment.
Musim Mas Group, one biggest integrated palm oil plantation company multiplied its prestige by getting 20 Program Penilaian Peringkat Kinerja Perusahaan (PROPER) Awards in 2023 in the event conducted by Ministry of Environment and Forestry Indonesian Republic. 14 subsidiaries of Musim Mas Group got 11 PROPER Hijau and 9 PROPER Biru. It was attended by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and Vice Minister of Environment and Forestry, Alue Dohong.
Musim Mas Group got PROPER Hijau for its 11 palm oil mills and PROPER Biru for 2 subsidiaries in mill sector. 7 others were in plantation sector. The awards were directly handed over by Alue Dohong on 20 December 2023.

PROPER award was assessed according to two main criteria, for instance, obedience and beyond compliance. The obedience criteria covered environment, water, sea, and air pollution control, dangerous toxic materials, and peat ecosystem control damage in plantation sector. Beyond compliance criteria covered the assessment about best environment cultivation practices, efficiency, emission reduction, and natural conservation protection.
In his speech, Vice President KH Ma’ruf Amin emphasized that it is important to cooperate among sectors to solve environment crisis, climate changes, natural conservation which gets decrease, and environmental pollution. He also acknowledged that sustainable development would need every party’s supports including the government, academy, community, and business.

As a global – scale company with the main operational in Indonesia, Musim Mas Group always prioritizes environmental and sustainable palm oil plantations and mills. By the late of 2022, more than 28 thousand hectares of the companies’ areas were allocated to get conservation. It covered more than 14% of the certified areas. Musim Mas Group also implement zero waste practices by processing liquid and solid wastes and gas efficiently.
The company emphasized its commitment on No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) policy in its supply chain. Besides, Musim Mas actively empowers the people through Masyarakat Bebas Api and Pemberdayaan Petani Swadaya Musim Mas – the programs that focus on good agricultural practices.
General Manager Corporate Affairs, Musim Mas Group, Teuku Kanna Rhamdan told that the sustainable strategy and policy in the company would be the basic things for every operational in the group and would escalate sustainable palm oil production standards.
